Tobacco Industry Cover-UpNovember 2026: Corrected the date of the 1953 Plaza Hotel meeting and of the Jeffrey Wigand broadcast (4 February 1996), the company William Campbell led (Philip Morris USA, not Brown & Williamson), and the settlement and document figures; added a claim statement and primary-source citations for the 2006 racketeering judgment and its 2009 affirmance, the court-ordered corrective statements and the limits of the record; replaced broken source links.
Operation NorthwoodsNovember 2026: Expanded the account using the Joint Chiefs' 13 March 1962 memorandum, the record of the 16 March 1962 White House meeting and the 1997-2001 releases. Corrected earlier statements: the memorandum went to the Secretary of Defense rather than to Kennedy, no document shows Kennedy rejecting it by name, and accounts of why Lemnitzer's term as Chairman ended differ without documenting a link to Northwoods.
WatergateNovember 2026: Rebuilt the account from the special prosecutor's final report, court opinions, the Nixon Library tape logs and Nixon's own August 1974 statements, and corrected the conviction count (69 people indicted or charged, with convictions documented case by case rather than a single "48"), the Senate hearings start date (May 17, 1973), the description of the June 23, 1972 "smoking gun" tape and the Mark Felt details. It also notes the March 2026 death of Alexander Butterfield and the Hoover Institution's September 2026 project to transcribe the Nixon White House tapes.

John Paul I sudden death (Sep 28 1978)November 2026: Verdict changed from partially true to unsubstantiated: the claim that John Paul I was murdered has no direct evidence, and the page now states that claim explicitly and separates it from the true context (no autopsy, a wrong early account of who found him, the P2 and Vatican Bank scandals). Corrections: he died on the evening of 28 September and was found on the morning of 29 September, and the earlier statement that Vatican law prohibited a papal autopsy is withdrawn because no source supports it.
Children of God / Family International: David Berg cult abuse cover-up (1968-present)November 2026: Corrected the account of criminal convictions (two members have been convicted in Scotland, in 2018 and 2020; a 2023 conviction previously listed was an error), added Lord Justice Ward's findings on the group's deception of outsiders, and fixed the wording of the 2008 apology and of the 2005 Rodriguez killing. Confidence is now 88 because the evidence that leaders hid the abuse from the authorities, or that a cover-up continues today, comes from survivor and advocate allegations rather than court findings.
USS Maine 1898: Spanish mine vs internal coal-bunker explosionNovember 2026: Verdict changed from debunked to unsubstantiated. The 1998 National Geographic computer analysis was inconclusive between a mine and an internal coal-bunker fire rather than supporting the coal-fire finding, so the cause of the sinking is treated as unresolved; there is still no evidence that Spain placed a mine.
Lehman Brothers Repo 105 balance-sheet transactions (2007-08)November 2026: Corrected the record on whistleblower Matthew Lee's letter (it did not mention Repo 105; he raised that with Ernst & Young separately in June 2008), Ernst & Young's two Repo 105 settlements ($99 million investor class action, approved April 2014; $10 million New York Attorney General case, April 2015), Dick Fuld's April 2010 House testimony and the SEC's role, and clarified that the bankruptcy examiner found colorable civil claims rather than a finding of fraud, which no court has made.
Vioxx cardiovascular risk and Merck's disclosure (1999-2004)November 2026: Verdict changed from confirmed to partly true. Vioxx's cardiovascular risk is established and the FDA's 2001 warning letter said Merck's promotion minimised the VIGOR signal, but intent to conceal or play down the risk is unproven. Corrected the death-toll attribution (FDA scientist David Graham's 2004 testimony, not an official FDA estimate), the VIGOR heart-attack figures, the 2011 plea (off-label promotion; $950 million with a civil settlement) and the label-change timeline.
GameStop short squeeze (Jan 2021)November 2026: Re-rated the claim that Citadel or hedge funds directed Robinhood's January 2021 GameStop buying restriction from partially true to unsubstantiated, and corrected what the SEC staff report, the House majority staff report and the courts actually found, including that the district court dismissed the antitrust suit on November 17, 2021 and May 12, 2022 and that the Eleventh Circuit's 2024 ruling did not decide whether a conspiracy was plausibly alleged.
David Kelly death (Jul 17 2003, Oxfordshire)November 2026: Reclassified from partially true to unsubstantiated, judging the claim that David Kelly was murdered and the suicide finding covered it up. Corrected the Hutton Inquiry's cause-of-death finding, the history of the 70-year non-disclosure request (the post-mortem report was published, with the toxicology report, by the Ministry of Justice in October 2010) and the inquest timeline, and noted that the Supreme Court has since set the civil standard of proof for suicide conclusions at inquests.
Manson Family / Helter Skelter race-war-trigger plan (1969)November 2026: Verdict revised from confirmed to partially true: the convictions confirm that Manson directed the Tate and LaBianca killings, and a 1976 appellate opinion described the race-war purpose as proved by circumstantial evidence, but the motive has been disputed, including by the director of a Netflix documentary series released in August 2026. Corrected the trial and sentencing dates and updated the parole status of Leslie Van Houten, Patricia Krenwinkel and Tex Watson.
Pascagoula abduction (Charles Hickson, Calvin Parker, 11 Oct 1973)November 2026: Verdict changed from debunked to unsubstantiated, because the evidence shows the claim is uncorroborated rather than disproved. Corrected the names of the officers who questioned the men (Sheriff Fred Diamond and Captain Glenn Ryder), the polygraph and Keesler details and the account of other reports from that night, and removed a Hynek quotation that could not be traced to him.
Operation Ranch Hand / Agent Orange dioxin contamination concealment (1962-71)November 2026: Rated partly true rather than confirmed: records show the makers knew dioxin could injure workers, but the Second Circuit found no evidence they knew of a long-term cancer risk or withheld information that would have changed the military's decision, and the Pentagon halted Agent Orange use in April 1970. Corrected several dates and figures and added 2024-26 developments.
Whitewater investigation (1994-2000)November 2026: Verdict changed from debunked to unsubstantiated. Independent Counsel Robert Ray found the evidence insufficient to prove the Clintons knowingly participated in crimes, which is not disproof, and his report left questions open. Corrected the release date of Ray's full report (March 2002) and the conviction details.
Bear Stearns collapse / JPMorgan rescue (Mar 2008)November 2026: The page now states the claim it judges, that coordinated naked short selling destroyed Bear Stearns, and rates it unsubstantiated rather than partly true. Corrections include the Cioffi and Tannin acquittal (Brooklyn federal court, under six hours of deliberation), the liquidity-pool figure ($18.1 billion), the Maiden Lane loan structure and the date of the peak short interest (14 March).
EgyptAir 990 deliberate-crash dispute (Oct 31 1999)November 2026: Corrected the NTSB's finding to its actual wording (the relief first officer's flight control inputs caused the crash; the reason was not determined and no conclusion was reached on intent). Removed an unsupported claim that European authorities endorsed the finding, corrected the date the cockpit voice recorder transcript was released (August 2000), and set out Egypt's position more precisely.
Aldo Moro kidnapping by Red Brigades (Mar 16 - May 9 1978)November 2026: Added the July 2026 order by a Rome judge for further investigation of possible additional participants at the Via Fani ambush, and moved the verdict from partially true to ongoing investigation. Corrected Moro's letters from captivity (86, not nine), the size of the Via Fani team (eleven according to the first-instance judgment, not five) and the dating and findings of the 2014-18 parliamentary commission, which are now taken from its December 2017 report.
Mac Miller 2018: industry sacrifice vs counterfeit-pill homicideNovember 2026: Corrected the legal record: Stephen Walter and Ryan Reavis pleaded guilty and were sentenced in 2022, while there is no public record of a plea or sentence for Cameron Pettit. Verdict changed from partially true to debunked, because the 'industry sacrifice' claim has no supporting evidence.
Boeing CFT Starliner stranded astronauts (2024-25)November 2026: Verdict changed from confirmed to unsubstantiated to judge the claim as Trump and Musk made it: the 286-day stay is undisputed, but NASA's record contradicts "abandoned" and nothing supports the political-motive or earlier-rescue claims. Corrected: NASA's Inspector General did not rule on the decision, and NASA's March 2025 release credited President Trump's direction with pulling the return forward by a month.
Travis Walton abduction (Arizona, 5 Nov 1975)November 2026: The verdict is changed from debunked to unsubstantiated, because the record shows absent evidence and contested testimony rather than a disproof. Polygraph dates and results are corrected, an unsupported 1993 test is removed, and the 2021 recorded call, crew foreman Mike Rogers's death in February 2026 and the disputed 2026 claims are added with attribution.
JUUL marketing nicotine vapes to minors (2015–2019)November 2026: Corrected the settlement figures (the 2022 multistate deal was $438.5 million with 34 states and territories; $462 million was a separate April 2023 settlement with six states and DC), replaced unsupported claims about the House subcommittee's 2019 documents and the FDA commissioner's 2018 remarks, and added the FDA's July 2025 authorisation of five JUUL products and the 2025 Florida and Alaska settlements. The verdict moves from confirmed to partially true: JUUL's marketing reaching minors is documented, but deliberate targeting is what investigators concluded or alleged, and none of the settlements is a court finding on intent.
Olof Palme assassination (28 Feb 1986, Stockholm)November 2026: Verdict changed from partially true to unsubstantiated. The claim judged is that a state or organised group planned the killing; no investigation has corroborated it, and since 18 December 2025 Swedish prosecutors no longer name Stig Engström as the perpetrator, leaving the murder officially unsolved.
Section 230 platform-immunity debate (1996-present)November 2026: Re-rated the claim that Big Tech lobbied Section 230 into place to gain unaccountable censorship power from confirmed to debunked, and corrected the date Executive Order 13925 was revoked (14 May 2021) and the FOSTA enforcement figure (one case, not two). Added the December 2025 Senate Sunset Section 230 Act, the March 2026 Los Angeles jury verdict against Meta and YouTube on design claims, and the Supreme Court's May 2026 denial of review in Doe v. X Corp.
Belgrade Chinese embassy NATO bombing (7 May 1999)November 2026: Verdict changed from partially true to unsubstantiated, because the claim that NATO deliberately struck the Chinese embassy still rests on anonymous sources. Corrected details on the Observer article, the CIA discipline (seven employees in total, one fired), the embassy's location (New Belgrade) and the ICTY review's wording.
Jonestown / Peoples Temple: CIA mind-control vs coerced mass death (1978)November 2026: The verdict now judges the CIA mind-control claim itself and is changed from partially true to unsubstantiated. The page also corrects the forensic evidence (needle marks were reported on adult bodies and their number and meaning are disputed; most babies and small children were poisoned by needle-less syringe) and the date of the House Intelligence Committee's no-evidence letter (18 November 1980).
1918 Spanish flu origins / Camp Funston theoryNovember 2026: Re-rated the claim that the 1918 pandemic began at Camp Funston, Kansas from partially true to unsubstantiated, because the geographic origin remains unknown and a 2019 review found the Funston outbreak was probably not the first large one. Corrected how the Haskell County (Barry), Étaples (Oxford and colleagues) and Chinese Labour Corps hypotheses and the 2019 review are described, and added a 2026 study.
Niger yellowcake forgery + Plame affair (2002-2007)November 2026: Verdict changed from confirmed to partially true: the forged Niger documents, Plame's outing and Libby's conviction for obstruction are documented, but the record does not show that Wilson's report was suppressed or that the leak was retaliation. Also corrected the Senate Phase II report date, the Butler Review wording and Libby's appeal and bar history.
XXXTentacion 2018: rival-label hit vs street robberyNovember 2026: Corrected the conviction record — Boatwright, Newsome and Williams were convicted at trial on 20 March 2023 and sentenced on 6 April 2023, and Robert Allen pleaded guilty in August 2022 (earlier text misdated the verdicts to October 2023 and swapped Williams's and Allen's roles). Added the sourced history of the Drake alternate-suspect argument and a 2025 appeal ruling affirming Michael Boatwright's convictions.
Anna Politkovskaya assassination (Oct 7 2006, Moscow)November 2026: Corrected the 2014 sentences (Lom-Ali Gaitukayev received life; Dzhabrail Makhmudov 14 years and Ibragim Makhmudov 12) and the date of Dmitry Pavlyuchenkov's sentencing (14 December 2012), added the October 2021 end of the 15-year limitation period (unless a court extends it) and the EU's October 2026 statement, and removed an unsupported claim naming an FSB colonel. The verdict moves from confirmed to partially true because the claim assessed includes state commissioning of the murder, which no court has established.
Utøya / Breivik solo-actor vs Knights Templar Europe network (Jul 22 2011)November 2026: Reclassified from partially true to debunked. The no-accomplice finding is now attributed to the police investigation and trial (the Gjørv Commission reviewed official preparedness and did not rule on the network claim), and Breivik's 2022 and 2024 parole refusals, 2025 appeal outcomes and October 2026 renewed parole request were added.
Prince's 2016 death: counterfeit pill murder vs accidental overdoseNovember 2026: Verdict changed from partially true to unsubstantiated, because the counterfeit pills are the official accidental explanation of Prince's death rather than support for a murder claim. Corrected who announced the 2018 no-charges decision (the Carver County Attorney, after a joint federal, state and local investigation) and added the September 2020 appeals ruling on the claim against Dr Howard Kornfeld.
Christchurch mosque attacks / Tarrant 'Great Replacement' manifesto (Mar 15 2019)November 2026: Added the Court of Appeal's 30 April 2026 decision refusing Tarrant's out-of-time bid to overturn his convictions. Corrected the Royal Commission's description: it was satisfied he acted alone and judged it likely that far-right online communities (and YouTube) affected his thinking; its report was presented on 26 November and published on 8 December 2020; its second commissioner was Jacqui Caine. The verdict stays partially true, with confidence now 78.
RFK Jr. anti-vaccine activism / Children's Health Defense (1998-present)November 2026: Added the 2025-26 federal actions bearing on these claims, including the November 2025 rewrite of the CDC's autism-and-vaccines page (which cited no new research), the January 2026 cut to the childhood schedule and the March 2026 court order blocking it, now on appeal. Corrected the Danish thimerosal study citation (JAMA 2003, 467,450 children), the stated cause of The Lancet's 2010 retraction of the Wakefield paper, and the description of Kennedy's Samoa testimony.
Mar-a-Lago documents raid: FBI search 8 Aug 2022November 2026: Added the permanent bar on releasing Volume 2 of the special counsel's report (February 2026; appeal argument postponed), the December 2025 release of FBI emails questioning probable cause, the February 2026 FBI firings and the fired employees' October 2026 lawsuit, and September 2026 grand-jury subpoenas to agents from the case. Corrected how the case ended (the government's appeal as to Trump was dropped in November 2024, after Judge Cannon had already dismissed the indictment) and the special-master account (Judge Cannon excused the sworn declaration on 29 September 2022); the claim is now rated unsubstantiated.
Daphne Caruana Galizia assassination (Oct 16 2017, Bidnija Malta)November 2026: Added the 2 September 2026 jury acquittal of Yorgen Fenech on both charges (8-1) and the Attorney General's 22 September appeal, and corrected earlier text that described his trial as ongoing or said he had been convicted. Corrected the dates and nature of the Muscat and Degiorgio pleas, removed an unsupported court-finding claim about Keith Schembri, and revised the verdict from confirmed to partially true.
Rwanda 1994 genocide: French complicity and UN inaction (April–July 1994)November 2026: Verdict revised from confirmed to partially true. The UN's failure to act on Dallaire's January 1994 warning is documented in its own 1999 inquiry, but France's Duclert report found nothing demonstrating a willingness to join a genocidal operation, Rwanda's Muse report found no evidence of direct French participation in the killing, and on 9 September 2026 France's Cour de cassation ended the Bisesero complicity case. Wording on the Dallaire cable, the Mucyo and Duclert reports and Operation Turquoise was corrected.
Yitzhak Rabin assassination (Nov 4 1995, Tel Aviv)November 2026: Corrected the Avishai Raviv record (he was acquitted of all charges on 31 March 2003, and his code name was 'Champagne'), corrected the dates of Yigal Amir's sentencing and the Shamgar Commission's appointment and report, and re-stated the claim judged here, that the Shin Bet deliberately enabled the assassination, as unsubstantiated; Amir's killing of Rabin is not in dispute.
Effective Altruism / SBF / OpenAI-safety funding network (2014-23)November 2026: Corrected Open Philanthropy's 2017 grant to OpenAI to $30 million (earlier text said more than $100 million) and the FTX Future Fund figures (about $160 million granted, against a stated $1 billion plan); added that Sam Bankman-Fried's conviction was upheld on appeal in June 2026 and that he petitioned the US Supreme Court in September 2026. The verdict is now partially true: the funding and personnel network is documented, but coordinated "capture" is not.
AARO Historical Report TrackerNovember 2026: Corrected the record on AARO's Historical Record Report: the promised Volume II had not been published as of February 2026 (only Volume I, from March 2024, was out), so the 2025 "Volume II" entries were removed. Corrected the UAP Disclosure Act's history (it has not been enacted in full) and added AARO's July 2026 annual report, the PURSUE file releases, and the House's July 2026 adoption of a new UAP Disclosure Act amendment.
Bohemian GroveNovember 2026: Added the February 2026 leak of a roster of the 2023 encampment, which the San Francisco Standard put at about 2,200 names and the Press Democrat counted at 1,900. The page now also gives the club's 1872 founding, its reported membership cost, the early press accounts of the encampment, and sociologist G. William Domhoff's account of an off-season meeting there of atomic-bomb planners.
Area 51 and Extraterrestrial TechnologyNovember 2026: Verdict unchanged (unsubstantiated). Added the Pentagon's 2026 declassified UAP file releases and AARO's fiscal year 2025 annual report, and clarified that neither AARO's 2024 historical report nor David Grusch's 2023 prepared statement names Area 51.
Atlantis: The Lost CivilizationNovember 2026: Verdict changed from unsubstantiated to debunked (90% confidence): Atlantis as Plato described it has no basis in the geology of the Atlantic or in the archaeological record, and scholars treat it as Plato's invention. Corrected the Thera eruption section (the eruption's link to the end of Minoan civilization is unclear, and the link to Atlantis is speculative) and fixed errors in the Bimini Road and Doñana timeline entries.
The Illuminati and New World OrderNovember 2026: Added April 2026 University of Erfurt research showing the Bavarian Illuminati continued to exist until 1787 rather than ending with the 1785 ban, corrected the history of the Eye of Providence symbol, and re-rated the claim as Debunked (previously Unsubstantiated) because the documented record shows a short-lived society with no continuity into the modern period.
The JFK Assassination ConspiracyNovember 2026: Added the 2025 and January 2026 National Archives JFK record releases and the July 2025 House task force release of a CIA officer's file on a Cuban group that met Oswald, and corrected outdated statements about remaining classified records, the 2023 Gallup figure (65 percent) and the HSCA's findings on organised crime.
Water Fluoridation ControversyNovember 2026: Added the 2024 federal court ruling on fluoridation and its May 2026 vacatur on procedural grounds, EPA's expedited fluoride review, the 2025 Utah and Florida bans, and newer studies on fluoride and children's IQ and cognition.

Library of Alexandria DestructionNovember 2026: Corrected errors in the account of the Library's destruction (Theophilus was the Christian bishop of Alexandria, not an emperor; the ancient sources on Caesar's 48 BC fire disagree about what burned; Canfora's position was misdescribed). MH370 DisappearanceNovember 2026: Ocean Infinity's 2025-26 seabed search ended in January 2026 without finding the aircraft. In June 2026 Malaysia's Cabinet extended the "no find, no fee" contract to 30 June 2027 to search the remaining 7,428.54 square kilometers, with operations rescheduled for November 2026 to April 2027.
Havana SyndromeNovember 2026: Added the June 2026 rescission of the 2023 and January 2025 intelligence community assessments by the Director of National Intelligence, the January 2025 assessment's split findings, January 2026 reporting that the Pentagon is testing a device bought in an undercover operation, and the first HAVANA Act payments (July 2026). Iran-Israel direct strikes (2024)November 2026: Added a bounded "What Happened Next" section covering the June 2025 12-day war, the US strikes on Iran's nuclear sites, IAEA findings and the US-Israeli war on Iran that began on 28 February 2026, with casualty figures attributed to each source. Corrected 2024 details (Iran's disputed advance notice, the death of a Palestinian man in Jericho on 1 October 2024, Israel's public announcement of the 26 October 2024 strikes) and replaced homepage-only and dead source links with specific reports.
Gaza October 7 False Flag ClaimsNovember 2026: Corrected several details (the timing of Israel's acquisition of the "Jericho Wall" plan, the Israeli inquiries, and unsourced forensic-verification claims), replaced unverifiable sources, and added the IDF and Shin Bet probe findings, the documented warnings and 2026 reports of warnings to the prime minister, the UN Commission of Inquiry's findings, a precise account of the Hannibal-directive debate, and fact-checks of the false-flag claim. The verdict is unchanged.
Acetaminophen Autism ClaimsNovember 2026: Verdict changed from partially true to debunked (85), applying to the claim as stated that acetaminophen causes autism and the link was concealed; the observational association and ongoing debate remain set out on the page. Corrected the 2024 Swedish sibling study (Ahlqvist et al., JAMA) and other citation errors, and added the September 2025 US government announcement and FDA label move, responses from regulators and medical bodies, new sibling studies and reviews from 2025-26, and the July 2026 appeals ruling that revived the US lawsuits without deciding causation.
Juice WRLD's 2019 death: federal-agent pill-swallow vs. natural ODNovember 2026: Verdict changed from partially true to unsubstantiated: the death during the search and the accidental opioid toxicity are documented, but the claim that the search caused him to swallow the pills rests on anonymous reports disputed by a named witness, and there is no evidence of a cover-up. Also corrected the date of the Medical Examiner's ruling (22 January 2020) and its wording, replaced unsourced details about the search (agency, agents boarding the plane, 'documented predicate') with the on-the-record police account, added the Chicago Sun-Times' anonymously sourced pill-swallow report alongside TMZ's, the weapons charges, the cover-up claim, the family's statement and later developments, and replaced or removed sources that pointed only to homepages.
