Fact check
Is it true: The Illuminati and New World Order?
No — this has been debunked.
The Bavarian Illuminati (founded 1776) was a real but short-lived Enlightenment secret society, banned in Bavaria in 1785 and, according to 2026 University of Erfurt research, continued to exist until 1787. The documented record shows no organizational continuity into the modern period and no evidence that the Illuminati, or any successor to it, orchestrates world events toward a single world government. The theory conflates real power structures with imagined coordination.
