Is it true: Dyatlov Pass Incident?
Partly — it's more complicated than the claim suggests.
The deaths, the bizarre injuries, the slashed tent, trace radiation, and genuine Soviet-era secrecy are all real and were long unexplained. But the exotic explanations — secret weapons, yeti, UFOs — have no supporting physical evidence, while Russia's 2020 prosecutorial finding and a 2021 peer-reviewed slab-avalanche model (plus 2022 field confirmation) provide a coherent natural explanation for the flight from the tent, the crushing injuries, and the freezing deaths.
The claim
The nine Dyatlov hikers were killed by something the Soviet state hid — a secret weapons test, military cover-up, or unknown force — because their injuries, the radiation, and the cut tent can't be explained naturally.
