Whether specific war footage is authentic, misattributed or AI-generated remains under active investigation, and some cases are unresolved. The claim that war footage is broadly AI-generated or fabricated is not supported: most provenance-disputed footage that fact-checkers examined is real footage attributed to the wrong event, and confirmed AI fakes remain a small minority. Established open-source methods have verified a large body of footage.
